Hitchin Race Circuit

Could you ever imagine Hitchin hosting a round of world rally car racing? The streets would be turned into race tracks with super charged cars racing across the town square, past beautiful old buildings and ancient churches. Try to conjure up the smell of oil and petrol and burning rubber in our quiet town. Well, it has already happened!

Richard Lovewell has created a fantastic 3D race simulation game that allows you to race around the market town of Hitchin. The circuit takes you past many Hitchin landmarks and the scenery is painstakingly accurate.

The race takes you through the cobbled town square and down Sun Street and Bridge Street. It is then a sharp left hand turn at the famous Eric T. Moore Books shop and then down Queen Street, past the British Schools Museum, Hitchin Market and St Mary's Church. The next turn is left onto Hermitage Road, where you pickup speed going down hill. Another left at Bancroft and onto High Street and you zoom back onto the cobbles of the town square.

We love it!
